It is indeed a great lesson that I learnt from the seminar. It had given a lot of experience and exposure to me. There are several things that I learnt:
- The seminar has taught me the importance of well-planning. I learnt that in order to organize a successful seminar, a lot of things should be overseen such as the date, place, the speaker, audience, technical devices, advertisement and refreshment should all be carefully planned.
- I learnt the importance of good leadership and collaboration among the committee members. Despite the difference in background and ways of thinking, we have to sit down and work in a group.
- I learnt that technical support such as PA system, computer system, LCD projector and the white screen, other electrical equipment and furniture arrangement should be given great emphasize. They give great impact to the blow of the seminar. Lacking in this area will give negative impact to the whole seminar.
- A great lesson is to avoid last minute preparation. Inadequate of microphones during the seminar had cause ineffective communication between the panel and the audience.
All in that, it is indeed a great opportunity to organise this seminar. I’ll make use this experience to contribute to the society in the future.
